Medication Aide (G3 and FastForward Eligible)

This course prepares you to administer medications in Assisted Living Facilities. Learn and develop skills in: Proper procedure for preparing, administering, and maintaining medications; Asepsis; Basic pharmacology; Assisting client with self administration of medication; and Documentation. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the Virginia State Board of Nursing competency exam for licensure as a Registered Medication Aide. Proof of completion of a Nurse Aide course or a 40-hour DCA or PCA course is required. Students eligible for aid will pay significantly less.
