Clinical Medical Assistant & Phlebotomy Technician Program (G3 and FastForward Eligible)

Purpose
This short-term program prepares students for dual certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Program Overview
Graduates gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to provide clinical and administrative support in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, and physician offices. The curriculum blends classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and online learning tools to ensure competency and confidence.

Skills You Will Learn

  • Clinical Care: Vital signs, body measurements, patient intake, Foley catheter care, and activities of daily living
  • Diagnostic & Laboratory Procedures: Phlebotomy techniques, EKG administration, point-of-care testing
  • Medication Administration: Safe injection practices and medication handling
  • Administrative Competencies: Electronic Health Records (EHR), scheduling, documentation, and patient communication
  • Professional Foundations: Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, infection control, and healthcare ethics

Admission Requirements

  • Meet eligibility requirements as stipulated by the National Healthcareer Association, including possession of a high school diploma or GED.

Program Requirements

  • Occasional supervised student experiences are required and will be scheduled at multiple campuses.
  • Students are responsible for transportation to these facilities.
  • Instructors will observe and evaluate professional suitability across all domains of learning. Students who do not demonstrate the documented behaviors required of healthcare professionals may be withdrawn from the program.
