Nondiscrimination Policy
Rappahannock Community College is an equal opportunity institution providing educational and employment opportunities, programs, services, and activities. RCC shall promote and maintain equal employment and educational opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, including lactation, age (except when age is a bona fide occupational qualification), status as a veteran, national origin, or other non-merit factors. RCC also prohibits sexual misconduct, including sexual violence or harassment.
RCC notifies the campus community of the nondiscrimination policy each year when the catalog is published in July, ahead of the beginning of the academic year. The catalog is available as a PDF and on the website.
Currently, the nondiscrimination policy is provided only in English but will be translated into other languages upon request. The website and the PDF are screen reader compatible, so it is accessible for students who are deaf or have a visual impairment.

Accreditation
Rappahannock Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees and certificates. As one of Virginia’s twenty-three community colleges, RCC is approved by the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges. The college’s associate degrees - Arts and Sciences and Applied Science - are approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).

The associate of applied science degree in nursing (ADN program) and the certificate program in practical nursing (PN program) are approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing. The EMS Programs, Basic and Advanced through Intermediate, are accredited by the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services.

Rappahannock Community College archives all past official catalogs so that relevant information for the course and degree requirements sufficient to serve former and returning students is readily available. Hard copies of RCC official catalogs from the last six years are available as a resource in the library on both the Glenns and Warsaw campuses. Digital PDF versions of catalogs from the last six years can be obtained by emailing records@rappahannock.edu. Please note that students can only graduate from a catalog that is not more than six years old. Beyond six years, archived official catalogs are stored in the Office of the Registrar.
